03 / Before a build starts
The three questions everyone asks.
- How long will it take? The quotation gives you a date; this page will not. The honest answer depends on how much existing data has to be cleaned and carried across — usually the long pole, not the building.
- What if it is not what we wanted? You see working parts as they are built, which is when changing direction is cheap. What is agreed, deferred or changed is recorded as we go.
- Any costs that are not yours? Two kinds, both passed through at cost like your domain: a paid Airtable plan if a system outgrows the free one (small builds often do not), and hosted mailboxes — priced per person by the provider — if forwarded addresses are not enough. Either way, you see the number before you commit.
