AMKA Engineering / Electrical inspection & condition monitoring
Industrial electrical inspection and condition monitoring in Malaysia.
Condition evidence for the electrical distribution assets a plant actually depends on — switchboards, MV switchgear, transformers and their connections. We inspect while the equipment stays energised, rate what we find, and say plainly what the evidence supports and what still needs checking.
Two screening methods answer different questions. Thermography reads the heat path around current-carrying connections; TEV and airborne ultrasound screen for insulation-discharge activity inside closed switchgear. Not sure which you need? The combined Electrical Health Assessment runs both.
What this is not. We are a diagnostic and inspection practice, not an electrical contractor. This route does not cover residential wiring, general M&E construction or installation, routine electrician call-outs, continuous online monitoring, or a full mechanical condition-monitoring programme. Where a finding needs corrective work, we say so and name who should do it.
Scope route
Start with the decision, not a test list.
Name the asset, what is happening and what the result must support.
01 / The wider routes
Different electrical questions need different evidence.
These routes are not automatic additions to an EHA. They are scoped when the site need, an existing finding or the required decision justifies them.
- Condition while running Thermography and partial discharge screening. Use the EHA route to find connection and insulation faults while equipment remains in service.
- Supply and transformer Power quality, oil sampling and dissolved-gas analysis. Use when trips, harmonics, voltage behaviour or transformer condition needs evidence beyond the initial screen.
- Earthing and protection Earthing, lightning protection and protection-relay routes. Use when the integrity of the safety path, trip behaviour or protection performance affects the decision.
- Action and closure Corrective work and verification. Act on a supported finding, then re-check the affected electrical points before monitoring or closure.
03 / Before approval
The quotation makes the working boundary visible.
- Assets and access
- The equipment, quantities, operating condition, access assumptions and outage requirements are stated.
- Delivery responsibility
- AMKA’s direct role and any confirmed specialist role are identified before commitment.
- Outputs and exclusions
- The readings, report depth, verification requirement and work outside the price are written into the scope.
- Location and timing
- AMKA is based in the Klang Valley and serves clients across Malaysia. Site location, mobilisation and timing are accounted for in the proposal.
